No elected official of the City, including the Mayor and City Council members, shall directly or indirectly solicit, accept, or receive any fee, gift, retainer, salary, consulting payment, or any other form of compensation from any individual or entity engaged in, or seeking to engage in, development, construction, or land use activities within the City limits, or who has a financial interest in such activities, during their term of office and for a period
of one year thereafter.
